Hey there, it's your Host, Amanda Cahill. Today, I have an open conversation with you about the immense pressure we, as parents, feel to ensure our kids hit developmental milestones right on time. I've personally grappled with the anxiety and inadequacy that comes with these expectations, and in this episode, I lay it all out for you.
During my child's doctor check-ups, I found myself questioning the pediatrician's focus on minor motor skills, social ability, and emotional state. It got me thinking about the impact of this scrutiny not only on my child but on my own mental well-being.
Things took a turn when it was suggested that my son might have developmental delays. The aftermath of that appointment was tough—I felt guilt and self-blame, questioning every choice I'd made as a mother. It was a moment of deep reflection on what I could have done differently.
Moving beyond my personal struggles, I explore the broader topic of child development and parenting strategies. Self-care became a lifeline for me, and I can't stress enough how important it is to set realistic expectations for yourself.
Together, Let's shift the focus from rigid timelines to providing support and celebrating the small victories.

On today’s episode of Redefining Motherhood, I have Erin England, a successful attorney and founder of Diaper Concierge. We had such a great conversation about juggling the realities of motherhood alongside a thriving career. Erin takes us through her journey, sharing insights on balancing work-life dynamics while navigating through societal expectations, gender roles, and equality.
As a working mother, Erin has encountered the sharp edge of unrealistic societal expectations and the often inadequate support from workplace policies. She opens up about her struggles with postpartum depression, anxiety, and the impact of traditional gender roles on parenting.
As we navigate the delicate balance of parenting and career, Erin and her husband expose the 'parenthood tax' and the mental load mothers often bear. They share the necessity of equal roles in the household, and the need for increased understanding and support in the workplace. Wrapping up with a heartwarming discussion on cherishing the season of motherhood, this episode is an intimate portrayal of the transformational journey of parenthood.

Have you ever stopped to question the supposed virtue of perfectionism? Have you ever considered that your relentless pursuit of flawlessness might actually be holding you back? I’m about to shift your perspective and shed some light on this 'perfectionist trap.'
On this episode, I discuss societal pressures, personal standards, and childhood experiences that contribute to this vicious cycle. But I don't just talk about problems, I offer solutions to help you break free by reframing your mindset, setting realistic goals, and practicing self-compassion.
I challenge you to redefine what success means to you. What if you could see success not as a perfect destination but as a continuous journey of growth? Sounds liberating, doesn't it? I’m here to remind you today that perfection is an illusion and your worth is not defined by an unreachable standard. Remember, you are enough just as you are!
So, if you're ready to embrace imperfection and redefine your idea of success, this episode is for you. Let's break those chains and step into a life of freedom and self-acceptance together!

Welcome to another episode of Redefining Motherhood! I'm your host, Amanda Cahill, and today's conversation is with a good friend, Melissa Hartmann, a woman who has embarked on an inspiring journey from victim mentality to boundless joy.
Melissa's story is a testament to the astonishing potential that lies within our subconscious minds, and she's here to share her wisdom with all of us. Throughout this episode, Melissa reveals the secrets to harnessing the power of our subconscious minds to transform our lives. Here are the key takeaways from our enlightening conversation:
1. Repetition is Key: Melissa emphasizes that reprogramming our subconscious minds requires consistency and repetition. By setting clear intentions and regularly repeating positive affirmations, we can begin to shape our reality and manifest our deepest desires.
2. Focus on What You Want: It's all too easy to dwell on what we don't want in life, inadvertently reinforcing negative beliefs. Melissa advises us to shift our focus towards what we do want. By doing so, we can redirect our energy and thoughts toward positive outcomes.
3. Embrace Humor and Lightness: In the midst of our self-improvement journeys, Melissa reminds us not to take life too seriously. Embracing humor and finding moments of lightness can be powerful tools for maintaining a balanced perspective and reducing unnecessary stress.
4. Seek Validation from Within: One of Melissa's most profound insights is the importance of seeking validation from ourselves rather than relying on external sources. By understanding our worth and not letting insignificant people hold too much sway over our lives, we can cultivate a deep sense of self-assurance.
Melissa Hartmann's story is not just about personal transformation; it's a testament to the incredible potential that resides within all of us. So, take these lessons to heart, and remember that your subconscious mind is a powerful tool waiting to be harnessed.

We're peeling back the layers of the postpartum experience, and I've got the incredible Megan Lyons, a nutritionist and wellness guru, right here with me.
You know, as moms, we've all been there. Those early days of motherhood can feel like a whirlwind – from sleepless nights to endless baby care, it's easy to forget to take care of ourselves. But let me tell you, Megan's insights are empowering. She reminds us all to ask for help, to carve out those moments that make us feel like ourselves, and to put our health front and center during this incredible, albeit chaotic, time of life.
